The Practical Driving Test: ‘Show me, Tell me’

Your practical driving test will involve you answering two safety questions, one before you set off, and one during the practical part of the test itself.

These questions are commonly referred to ‘show me, tell me’ questions, because the examiner will expect you to be able to explain how you would go about a variety of safety-related matters (‘tell me’) and demonstrate certain practical safety-related tasks on the vehicle itself (‘show me’).

You will be asked one ‘show me’ and one ‘tell me’ question. As a student of Jo’s Driving School, you will be thoroughly prepared for these questions, and they shouldn’t  cause you any issues. If you were to fail to answer either or both of the questions to the examiner’s satisfaction, they can record a minor driving fault.
